Serving the Skye Canyon community in Northwest Las Vegas

In 4th Quarter of 2025, we joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the City of Las Vegas for the groundbreaking of the new Skye Canyon LVMPD Substation and adjacent park, serving the Skye Canyon and Providence communities in Northwest Las Vegas.

The project represents a meaningful investment in both public safety and community space, bringing a dedicated police presence together with a new 2-acre park designed for neighborhood use. The park will include play areas, a skate park, picnic shelters, workout areas, walking trails, and other amenities for residents.

TJK is providing mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and technology design for the park and approximately 13,200 SF substation. The facility is designed to support modern policing needs while also creating opportunities for community engagement, including spaces that allow Metro to better connect with and serve the surrounding area.

The project is being delivered in partnership with Simpson Coulter Studio and CORE Construction, with close coordination between the City, Metro, and the full project team as it moves through construction.

The project also incorporates advanced technology systems to support operations and future needs.

“A lot goes on behind the scenes in a facility like this, especially with technology, and we worked to make sure everything is set up to support how the building is actually used.” said Barry Lasseigne, PE, Project Manager at TJK.

We value being part of projects like this that support essential services and create spaces people can use every day.
