Two New Schools Break Ground

CCSD's first Career and Technical Academy program at the middle school level.

Two Clark County School District campuses are taking an important step forward with groundbreaking celebrations for the new Robert O. Gibson Leadership Academy in August 2026 and James Cashman Middle School in September 2026.
The new Cashman campus will replace the existing middle school with a PreK through 8 school designed to serve approximately 1,200 students when it opens for the 2028 to 2029 school year. The campus will also introduce CCSD’s first Career and Technical Academy program at the middle school level, giving students earlier opportunities to explore career and technical education.
The new Robert O. Gibson Leadership Academy will replace a campus originally constructed in 1965. The approximately 150,850 square foot, three story middle school will provide a new learning environment for more than 1,000 students, along with new fields, courts, and site improvements. The existing school will remain operational while the new campus is constructed.
TJK is providing full mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and technology engineering for both projects. Since our founding in 1986, our team has worked on more than 400 CCSD projects, from renovations and system upgrades to new campuses like Gibson and Cashman.
“It has been an honor to watch the Clark County School District grow and evolve over the years and for TJK to be part of the engineering team on so many projects along the way,” said Tom Anderson, P.E., President and Principal Engineer at TJK. “Schools are an important part of every neighborhood, and we value the opportunity to help create spaces that will serve students and educators for years to come.”
For us, these projects are about more than replacing aging school buildings. Both campuses have been part of their neighborhoods for many years, and we are proud to help create the next chapter for the students and families who will use them.
