Mountain Pass Mine recently completed construction of an EcoVAP Floating Matrix, a proprietary water evaporation system designed to improve efficiency and sustainability in mining operations.
TJK provided electrical and plumbing engineering services for the project. Our team designed the power distribution system for each barge, supporting reliable energy delivery across the matrix. We also developed detailed plumbing construction documents defining the sizing and distribution of the water system within the floating structure.
The EcoVAP system is designed to make wastewater evaporation more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible. Mountain Pass is the only rare earth mine in the United States currently implementing this Evaporative Matrix technology, marking a significant step forward in sustainable mining practices.
