The Clark County Library District envisioned the Mesquite Library as an inviting place for the community to gather and learn. TJK provided mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and technology engineering services for the new 13,313 square foot library and redesign of the existing 5,464 square foot library building. The expanded facility includes an art space, café, makerspace, teen lounge, classrooms, meeting spaces, computer room, career center, and outdoor play area.

As the library floor plan evolved, TJK adapted the building systems to support the different ways each space would be used. Lighting was an important part of the design, balancing the needs of focused work with comfortable spaces for reading and collaboration. The final design also exceeded LEED requirements, supporting the Library District’s goals for energy efficiency and long term sustainability.

The completed library provides Mesquite residents of all ages with expanded access to educational resources and a welcoming place to connect with their community.
