Strong Start Academy is an 18,500 square foot LEED Silver Certified early childhood education facility developed by the City of Las Vegas. The academy includes classrooms and outdoor play areas, along with a family engagement room, training space, staff areas, and a health clinic. The facility was created to expand access to early childhood education and provide a dedicated learning environment for young children in Las Vegas.

TJK provided mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and Level 2 technology engineering services for the new facility. Our design included HVAC and plumbing systems, power distribution, interior and site lighting, and technology systems supporting the academy’s classrooms and shared spaces. Energy efficiency was an important consideration throughout the design, including the use of daylighting controls in classrooms and coordination with the building energy model to support the project’s LEED goals.

The completed academy provides purpose built spaces for early learning, family engagement, and supporting services within one facility.
