The City of Las Vegas 3rd Street Improvements enhanced the corridor between Charleston Boulevard and Bonneville Avenue, with additional improvements between Charleston Boulevard and Hoover Avenue. The project introduced new pedestrian and recreation amenities along the streetscape, including walkways, play and picnic areas, dog runs, and shade structures.

TJK provided electrical engineering services for the improvements, including street and pedestrian lighting, landscape and tree lighting, and power to support the new park elements. A distinctive feature of the design is the lighting integrated into a series of shade structures along the corridor. The fixtures are connected to a programmable control system that allows the City to adjust light levels and colors for everyday use and special events.

The improvements created a more welcoming pedestrian corridor while adding flexible public spaces and lighting that contribute to the character of downtown Las Vegas.
