Charlene was born in Northern California and grew up in Las Vegas. She attended a Career and Technical Academy in the engineering and design program which influenced her decision to pursue electrical engineering as her major in college. Charlene recently graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with her bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 2022. During her senior year, Charlene and her team designed an automated hydroponics system for their senior design project which won an award in the Interdisciplinary category. The project took a year to complete, and required Charlene and her team to model and 3D print a base for their design, program all of the sensors, and power the whole system.
Outside of work, Charlene is a passionate Tahitian dancer and started at the young age of 10. To this day, she is still dedicated to Tahitian dance and it’s well known among her friends that they can’t make plans on Tuesday nights because Tuesdays are for dance practice! Charlene finds inspiration in the thought of her future and always strives to be the best version of herself that she can be.
